This year we are funding the construction of a two-storey science block at the Juba Diocesan Model Secondary School in South Sudan. The school has about 800 pupils, both boys and girls. In a new young country there is a desperate need for science teaching to prepare doctors, engineers, surveyors, agronomists, pharmacists etc. to lift the country out of poverty. This block will facilitate teaching of the sciences up to A-level, and will encourage girls to stay on at school after the age when they are usually pressured to leave.
